Every year, up to 8 million metric tons of plastic is entering our ocean.
As a result, plastic is not only polluting our beautiful coastlines, but also infiltrating the world's most remote places such as the Arctic and Antarctic, and the deepest parts of the sea.
Our world’s ocean is critical to humans’ survival.
The ocean generates over half of the oxygen we breathe and reduces the impact of climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide from the environment. The ocean makes up the largest ecosystem on our planet, with over 1 billion people relying on protein from the ocean for food.
